No, next time there will be a new regulation in effect.

One would hope. But clearly OP's kid thought he was pulling a fast one lol. He absolutely deserved that A!

does no one look at MP quarter grades at all? I assumed they were used for magnet program selection at least...

It's not really something you can control. Grades are a surprise and come in at the buzzer. It's a half-court shot at the end of the game, not something you plan to do, but if it works you take the W!

But well done to your kid!

Huh? An 89.6 for two MPs still averages out to 89.6, which is still an A...

Some posters are hoping that rounding decimals to the nearest whole number won’t be allowed next year.

Because some people are way too absorbed by grades that won’t matter after HS.

Me too, but school was less rigorous in other ways and getting into college was way, way less competitive. It’s a whole different ball game now.

+1

The only proper MCPS A is an 89.6 and a 79.6, which will not be possible in the future. OP’s kid missed out!

Mine was far more rigorous but highly selective admissions was less competitive.

Disagree, it's 89.5 and 79.5.

Oh, your poor baby. He only gets an A and is put in the same bucket as the 90%ers? How will you show us all how special he is?

You realize there has always been a 10-point in a grade, right?

That's what +/- used to be for...
