Other than the Top 10 -20 for Engineering - What are some other really good schools maybe under the radar?

This is one of those majors where prestige of the school really doesn’t matter. Big and well funded programs around here at UMD, Penn State, Delaware, VT.

Depends what you want to do with the degree. Some employers are more coveted than others. Better degrees open more doors.

Swarthmore has a 4-year ABET accredited Engineering program. Great choice for those interested in Engineering + Liberal Arts (a high number double major).

See this is what’s so weird about engineering. I’m sure my kid has no hope of getting into Duke. But maybe Ohio State? Some of the lower ranked schools are actually way harder to get into!

The ABET is in general engineering versus a specialty area. Could there by any issues with that for later employment?

U of Cincinnati has good engineering programs and the oldest co-op program in US.

Good schools although too crowded if you don't have better options.
