DCUM being redirected to a spam/malware add.

It's really bad today. I get it every time I click on a thread basically.

Those of you getting this ad, can you list what browser you are using? Maybe I can try to replicate it. Also, please provide screenshots if you can.

I'm using Chrome. Will grab a screenshot next time it happens.

Edge browser

From Chrome, I keep getting a complaint from my malware checker about the modanova site when I go to dcum because it's an ad that shows up on the dcum page. I can't effectively view dcum from my browser because I get the malware message, and I either have to accept the potential malware site of modanova a safe (is it?) or can't stay on the dcum page because of the repeated malware message that pops up as soon as I go to dcum.

This was me above, and it seems mostly to have stopped. I noticed that one of the dcum ads that was coming up was to that same site, modanova. But now I'm just getting an Adobe Acrobat Pro ad telling me to update my resume. What has it heard, lol???

Just got a pop-up that said your computer has been infected and please click here to remove it with a link to that same site referenced above.

Just FYI. The malware is bad. I'm running McAfee and VPN now.

If you are seeing reduced traffic, its because of this.

Hi Nicole K! (Nicole Kidman on DCUM?!)

We can't see files on your local computer.

The ad distribution network was probably hacked.

I get that one on Safari on my phone but never on Chrome or Edge when I'm on my laptop or desktop.

Thanks to everyone for these reports. I've contacted our ad provider and hopefully they can do something about the issue. In the meantime, there are two threads about these ads so I am going to combine them:
