Splitting up the Diet and Exercise Forum

Just meaning that I value actionable change through a committed lifestyle choice to be active and exercise to be healthy. I couldn’t care less about losing weight. I am 52, and choose lifestyle choices to make sure I am active, and can be able to be physically functional at 80.

The drugs stuff is an easy fix. That is what depresses me in terms of those threads having no motivation for me on to achieve my overall goals.

Nope. They are not "an easy fix." Not even close. So ... given that you are posting this, even here on this website feedback thread, I would not be surprised if you are one of the people derailing the GLP1 threads with this nasty fat phobic attitude. At any rate, simply stop opening those threads if they "have no motivation" for you.

OP here. I see you are directing your anger towards me but I am not one of those posters.

Are we finally breaking out a section for the disordered eaters?

You are very wrong.

Who is forcing you read those threads?

I love the peri forum!

This. The Diet and Exercise forum gets maybe two new threads per day on a busy day. It's not highly-trafficked as it is.

I have been trying to decide whether there is a way to read Diet & Exercise and avoid the disordered eaters. I’ve come to the conclusion I cannot.

It appears there is absolutely no way to escape you. Even on threads that are not about actual usage of GLP1, you show up. Before accusing others of derailing, maybe take a look at why you needed to post.

I support creating a separate forum for this reason. I think there should be an Exercise & Fitness forum, and a Diet, Nutrition & Weight Loss forum.

I don't find the GLP discussion depressing or upsetting, but I have no interest in discussing GLPs or any diet-related weight loss approaches. I just want to discuss exercise and fitness. If I discuss food in that context, it would be something like "what do you eat to help with recovery after heavy lifting?" or "good non-messy snacks for the gym" or something. Weight loss is not part of my exercise/fitness journey -- I only care about building strength, getting better at my sport, and feeling good. But the Diet & Exercise forum is largely about weight loss.

NP. Why don’t you start threads with these titles? No need for a separate forum when it is a low traffic one as is.

PP here, and I have no idea what you are talking about.

There is already a whole section of DCUM on sports, with a forum on Sports General Discussion. Post there.

The Diet & Exercise forum has a subtitle saying it's about weight loss. It is what it says on the wrapper.

“General Sports” and “Fitness” are different audiences right now. Exercise is not just about “weight loss” by the way.

As I mentioned as the OP, this is semantics, and Jeff et al. have more important things to attend to at the moment.

People bring up GLP1 in every thread involving dieting, not just threads with it in its title.

You should reflect on why you are triggered by that.
