Get new housekeeper or reset expectations?

Give them time to rectify the issue first.

If they seemingly revert back to their old ways > then I would find a new cleaning 🧹 🪣🧽🧼 crew……
Perhaps ask a close friend, relative or even a neighbor for a referral.

Perhaps you houses gets filthier every week and you leave a huge mess for them.

Yeah, my house cleaners and I do not share a common language, but I've never had a problem pointing out to them what needs to be done. They're professionals, they'll understand if you just gesture them over to the couch, pull up the cushions, and pantomime vacuuming. Do it with a pleasant smile.

However, i have not been able to get them to stop pulling the top 3-4 tissues out of every box to fold into little fans. I get it, it's to indicate that they were here and make things look hotel-pretty, but I wish they wouldn't.

Do I review expectations or just find a new housecleaner? I’d prefer a housecleaner that’s consistent and doesn’t need a conversation to understand how to do their job.

Why are you and your family so filthy that sofa cushions must be cleaned every week. Once a month, ok, but every week, you are slobs.

DP and I only have the cleaners in once a month. We do the routine stuff ourselves (and we don't take food outside of the dining room/ kitchen) but it's nice to have someone come in and vacuum every corner and dust every surface and mop the floors thoroughly.

How much do you pay them and have they raised the rates? Talk to them before firing them. Ours rarely raise rates and do a decent job. It’s not perfect but they are honest and don’t break anything. It’s also a different group from time to time, over the years. We’ve had the same main woman for 15 years and she’s brought different women to help her.
