| We carpool with friends in the neighborhood. It takes an extra two minutes for pickup from their house and saves 30-40 round trip of driving. I love carpooling over the summer. |
| Do whatever works for you. My car is neither big nor clean, but I am usually not driving multiple kids. |

Carpool is awesome! You don't provide snacks (that's insane, any kid who needs to eat, their own parent provides), you pick the other kid(s) up, you drop them at practice or pick them up at practice and drop them at home. It's the best time ever to just listen. The kids chat and you learn all kinds of everything, even if your kid isn't one who usually shares.

Yeah that 30 min of standing in the soccer field picking daisies really works up an appetite. I bring protein drinks and bars. |
I think this really depends on the sport and the time. I'd be frustrated if you were giving my kids snack on the way home from, say, a 7 pm end time and I was planning on a 7:30 dinner. Yeah my kid is hungry but I'm about to feed them a meal. On the other hand after a summer double header that ends at 9 my kid is starving because I fed her at 4:30 so she ate a smaller than usual dinner. In that case I have a second dinner type snack that's protein heavy for her because she just played ball for 4 hours. This is probably also age dependent. Older elementary kids are starving at nearly all times. |
