When adults say they binged a whole season of a show in a day?

I’m going to say some people exaggerate this.

Once, I did this with my daughter. She bragged to friends.

The truth is that we watched 2 episodes during the week. We finished the rest of the season in one day.

So it wasn’t exactly binging a whole season in one day.

The only people I know who say this have no kids and often no partner.

Plus, I generally have too much to do to just plant myself by the TV all day…and I do like to watch TV, but not endlessly.

You've never had the TV on while you've done other things? Folding laundry is an obvious one, but I also like to do it for any kind of sorting/organizing activity: like getting my tax stuff organized, or going through a pile of mail, or cleaning out my dresser. I'm excited because I'm on vacation next week and I'll probably binge The Pitt while I clear out a couple of junk drawers and a book case.

Third rainy day in a row. Clean house. Older kids who don’t need or want to be entertained. Endless games of rummy and Uno played. Laundry done. Enough food for the week. Probably some good wine and cheese in the house. That’s our recipe for a binge day. So in frequent. But it’s happened a handful of times.

Sometimes I stay up late at night. DCs are older now, so I don’t have to be up early with them.

I’ve watched a few bbc series in a couple days, 4-6 episodes total.

Ppl who don't have kids or kids are out of the house

Sick or recovering / tired or in bed a lot of the day

Insomnia (like being on DCUM late at night gratuitously!)

Weird work schedule - like a random day off when kids are at school. Feels very indulgent to just lay around and watch TV, especially if the weather is bad

I don’t watch much tv anymore but when I did binge a show it was often a combination of zooming out for a few hours abba having the tv on as background noise while doing other things like cooking and laundry. But if it’s a rainy day, I’m not going outside anyway, so why not watch a few episodes of something?

I am a disabled adult but it would take me more than one day to binge an entire season. Maybe 2 days if I was really gunning it.

I feel guilty and barely watch tv. But as my kids are older they don’t need me as much except to drive…. So probably I should.

I have kids now but back in the day I could watch a cable movie marathon on lifetime or hallmark channel. Binging shows today is probably similar.

Back in 2015 I fell in love with Nurse Jackie on Netflix?? The episodes were short and the drama was intriguing. I probably could have binged a season in a sitting, so vowed to only watch it on my treadmill, which made me feel a lot less guilty.

No kids, short seasons, hot day/cold day/rainy day, etc.

I can do a few hours or half a day, but typically not a whole day.

I might have it in my cell phone or laptop while doing chores.

The times I've binged TV in the last year have been when I was sick. I felt like crap this past weekend and we had a busy Saturday that I had no choice but to participate in but then starting Saturday afternoon through Sunday night I was basically in bed watching TV. I did get up to do laundry and put groceries away but I watched quite a bit of TV. I usually go weeks without watching anything so this was an aberration but that's how I did. I have a friend who seems to watch an awful lot of TV but I get the feeling she "watches" it while doing other things, whereas I try to really pay attention if I'm going to watch something.
