Why do so many Americans condone murder?

I don’t think murder is the right response, but I at least understand why people feel that way.

Why do the hospitals charge so much? Insurers are the only ones pushing back against that. Do you really think it should cost $5K to get treatment for a broken leg in the ER? People just want their insurance to pay whatever the hospital asks because they feel like it’s not their money, except it is. It’s all of our money.

I once took my two kids in for a routine checkup. Somebody at the pediatrician's office checked the wrong box and I got a bill for over a thousand dollars. What sort of system have we built where preventative medicine that can head off much more significant problems down the road costs so much?

And? Who cleared up the form error and correct the billing? The doctors office? You? Or the insurer?

This. When you prioritize money over people, why the surprise of this outcome?

What money? 1-4% margins are worse than restaurant margins.

Don’t conflate volume of services with profit.

And don’t conflate cash pay comp with esop.

That’s a convo for another thread. We are all responsible for a for-profit healthcare system.

Exactly.
We should be like the UK where we all pay 9% per paycheck for national care NHS insurance and >6% per paycheck for private care insurance.

The profit motive needs to be removed from healthcare. I'm not saying physicians and specialists shouldn't be paid a good salary - they should, but not millions and there should absolutely NOT be any "healthcare CEOs" making millions whatsoever.

Physicians are paid millions per year!? Amazing to hear this update.

Why is malpractice insurance $200,000 a year per doctor?

Would you support murdering a politician because you don't agree with the laws they pass? Of course not. How is the murder of the CEO any different?

They don’t. Just a few fringe left wingers and some unemployed fangirls.

You’re just trying to manufacture a fake post. Good luck.

The only people I see cheering on Thompson’s murder are MAGA trash. They’re the violent ones celebrating his assassination. It’s also no coincidence that Mangione comes from a family of republicans.

How many assassinations attempts were directed at Obama and Biden by RWNJ’s? Hundreds, easily. At least once a week you’d hear on the news about a narrow escape or an attempt prevented in the nick of time. It became so regular the news stopped reporting it.

The right is a violent movement. They cannot be reasoned with or coexisted with. They MUST be destroyed. Totally and completely.

Because doctors - mostly white men - make mistakes that kill 700,000 people annually.
