Why do the hospitals charge so much? Insurers are the only ones pushing back against that. Do you really think it should cost $5K to get treatment for a broken leg in the ER? People just want their insurance to pay whatever the hospital asks because they feel like it’s not their money, except it is. It’s all of our money. [/quote]
I once took my two kids in for a routine checkup. Somebody at the pediatrician's office checked the wrong box and I got a bill for over a thousand dollars. What sort of system have we built where preventative medicine that can head off much more significant problems down the road costs so much?[/quote]
