They should just let all Americans have the same coverage that the members of congress enjoy. |
Yep. And they cover Viagra. And you pay for the public schools. Meanwhile, I pay for healthy foods and a gym membership and my premiums cover other people's diabetes. Oh well. Welcome to the community! |
And shareholders. This is why so much more money is spent on health care in the US, yet with worse outcomes. Health care should not be for-profit. |
Health insurance should be based upon each individual’s health needs. Per usual, democrats expose themselves. Obamacare is income redistribution. |
This! |
It isn’t income redistribution moron. It’s pooled risk! This is the foundation of insurance. |
I'm a republican and I'm good with the ACA. It's kind of nutty to tie health insurance to employment. Limits people's ability to start companies, do gig work, etc. ACA isn't perfect but I'm glad it was passed |
Insurance you are forced to buy, by the fed gov. |
DP. Again, pooled risk. The smaller pool, the greater the risk and the higher the costs. |
Definitely! I am so tired of paying for you. |
Healthcare premiums were rising pre-ACA as well. Some indication is that the YoY increases have slowed since ACA. |
Yes because if you don’t buy health insurance and need services, you are driving up the costs for others. If everyone is insured the pool of risk is larger and costs should be controlled but because it is a for-profit system, insurance must pay large executive compensation packages and shareholders. |
Thus, why illegal immigration has destroyed our healthcare system. Illegal aliens get healthcare at the ER, don’t pay, and the healthcare systems raise prices on those of us that are insured. |
Thank you! I keep screaming this at the top of my lungs. It’s a myth that the GOP is “good for business” especially small business. The ACA has helped our small business and our employees families. Guess what, that put all of their earnings back into the economy, they don’t hoard their wealth. |
Wow. That's so Darwinian of you. It's fine not to pay until you get into an accident or get cancer -- then what do you do? A very wealthy friend is receiving cancer treatment that costs $60,000 per month. Even he can't afford that. Should everyone who can't afford treatment for their conditiin just die? Is that what you suggest? |
