Medicaid is for CITIZENS! If you aren't a citizen, it's going away.

There are already work requirements. It is a red herring. There is also no proof of any fraud at the individual level. It is a red herring. |
What they have done is greatly increase the red tape, rules and regulations for receiving benefits while firing most of the employees that deal with the general public. This will greatly reduce the people who will receive benefits they are entitled to by law. It will be very hard to actually receive benefits. In addition the responsibility to fund the benefits will be pushed down to the states. They will either drop the programs or have problems funding the programs. This has turn Medicaid in to an unfunded mandate in many states. The Republicans are now everything they use to complain and campaign against -bureaucracy with excessive regulations, paperwork and designed to hinder or slow down processes plus unfunded mandates to the states. It is a shocking turn. |
70% is not on entitlements. MAGAs cannot make the argument that budget cutting of $800m on Medicaid is necessary at the same time they are spending $5 trillion on tax cut for rich people. |
How about...cut the military budget that hasn't passed an audit since Obama was president until they get their financial house in order and raise taxes on the uber wealthy so they pay their fair share. Hint...they will still be uber wealthy. |
If it's a red herring, then why are worried about it being "restated" (according to you) as a requirement? |
I guess you aren't a numbers person. It costs $17 BILLION PER DAY to run the federal government. That's $17 BILLION, 365 days per year. You're whining about $800 MILLION in cuts? |
DP here. I'm a huge proponent of single payer health insurance for all. I still expect to pay a monthly premium for my coverage. But not the absolutely absurd premium listed on the exchange for crappy coverage with high deductibles. And the cost should not increase with age the way it does on the exchange. |
Your neighbor is the except...report her if you feel that strongly about it. |
Because the GOP has proven not to be trustworthy in their public statements as they have been gaslighting us for decades. |
because those 800 million in cuts are material to the people receiving those cuts, to the point that they may not be able to survive any longer |
Every time I see the subject of this thread, I think it is about the Better Business Bureau. |
DP here. We all know stories like this. I also want parents of disabled children under 26 to be income-tested. I know several wealthy families with disabled minor children on Medicaid. It should be need-based. We make way less than many of these - why am I subsidizing them? |
No where in my comments did I suggest anything about “fraud”. Whether or not there are work requirements varies by state, as does eligibility for Medicaid. |
