Well according to democrats, the rich don't pay anything in taxes anyway, so this would increase the take home pay of the poor who are on these programs. One hand washes the other, right? |
Millions will lose insurance all while adding trillions to the national debt.

100% Uninsured sick people don't go to a PCP or even Urgent Care - they go to the ER. Because they know that they can't be turned away at the ER if they have no money. And then what happens? Small, easy things that PCPs could have found and fixed grow into larger, more expensive problems. |
Don't care. |
Research consistently shows that this impacts even the insured as hospitals charge more to the paying customer to make up the difference. So you don't care when your insurance premiums rise? |
Not believing this for a second. More fear mongering.
If these people include those who are able-bodied individuals and have been benefiting from free health insurance, they need to get off their duffs and get a job, volunteer, or do something productive. And, as for the illegal aliens - they need to be deported to seek health care in their home countries. |
As someone without employer sponsored healthcare, I already pay through the nose. I literally laughed out loud when a PP mentioned a $35 copay. I haven't had that in a decade or more. I actually believe it would benefit me in the long run if the high cost affected more of the population. I'm tired of their being a two track system - those with good health insurance and those with crappy expensive health insurance. I'm willing to roll the dice. |
My Obamacare rate is $1500 per month and I have the cheapest Obama care plan in my state. I get no subsidy as I gross over $49,000 a year in my state.
I don’t understand why tax paying US citizens can access the cheaper rates and cheaper healthcare. I think the discounts should go to those employed and those that are working and trying. |
yes, let's squeeze blood from a rock, and expect poor people to pay more for medical insurance. FWIW, I have also had expensive ACA insurance for many years. |
Just FYI, the American Rescue Plan and Inflation Reduction Act eliminated the income limit. Instead, you can get a subsidy if the cost of the second lowest cost Silver plan is more than 8.5% of your adjusted gross income. So you probably have been eligible for a subsidy for the last few years. |
Just like Sherman said, everyone needs to "feel the hard hand of war." Not just the 6% of us getting ripped off on the exchange while everyone else enjoys their medicaid/medicare/employer sponsored plans. |
DP. This really isn’t something people should have to figure out to get healthcare. Repeal and replace, with universal healthcare and watch the cost of care drop. |
This. There are a lot of entrenched interests in the current system, but it’s expensive and inefficient and ineffective. We spend more and have worse outcomes. |
