My Obamacare rate is $1500 per month and I have the cheapest Obama care plan in my state. I get no subsidy as I gross over $49,000 a year in my state. I don’t understand why tax paying US citizens can access the cheaper rates and cheaper healthcare. I think the discounts should go to those employed and those that are working and trying.
Just FYI, the American Rescue Plan and Inflation Reduction Act eliminated the income limit. Instead, you can get a subsidy if the cost of the second lowest cost Silver plan is more than 8.5% of your adjusted gross income. So you probably have been eligible for a subsidy for the last few years.
DP. This really isn’t something people should have to figure out to get healthcare. Repeal and replace, with universal healthcare and watch the cost of care drop.
This. There are a lot of entrenched interests in the current system, but it’s expensive and inefficient and ineffective. We spend more and have worse outcomes.
