I like these! Others agree with the hard no? Not op obviously. |
|
I understand op. What about these?

I think espadrilles could be a great option for you, OP. These are not only the most comfortable espadrilles I’ve found but they are actually comfortable and quite supportive and sturdy (hard to find in an espadrille in my experience). https://www.viscata.com/products/formiga-canvas-wedges Here is the flat version: https://www.viscata.com/products/montroig-canvas-espadrille-sandal |

I first became aware of these when I saw them on many, many woman of all ages in Madrid last summer. The color combinations are really striking. https://flabelus.com/collections/mary-jane |
NP. This style is super popular again. I love them. I saw a stylish 20-something wearing a pair of Doc’s fisherman sandals the other day — almost identical to the ones I wore to my college graduation in the mid 90s. |
Agreed they are awful. |
These are the only remotely non-frumpy shoes posted in this thread. Ok the anthro ones were fine. |
| I like sketchers. They are super comfy. I hate Toms shoes. They provide no support. |
This. And they have so many different styles not just the dressier version |
| I had a pair of basic Rothy flats when they first came out, and they were comfortable and fine-looking. However, the expanded breadth of Rothy options like mary janes and sneakers scream "I've given up on fashionable footwear" to me. So ugly now. |
