Explain to me ex's relationship with new girlfriend

Ha! Nope. I make $200k and spouse $300k and with housing and kids at private colleges- we aren’t rolling in money by any means. We only have 2 kids too.

Divorce means splitting assets so he has even less $ after the divorce and FOUR kids. Add her two and I sure hope she makes $$ herself.

This. My ex treated his current wife very, very well for 5 years. So well that I felt like his abusive behaviors must have been my fault. Once they got married and had a baby, he flipped and started treating her even worse than he treated me. She had another kid with him and they are still married almost 9 years later. We talk often and he continues to be so awful to her. Textbook narcissistic abuse cycle. She hates him but won't leave for religious reasons.

Could be this actually.

The best thing to do is to remind yourself that he's your ex and what he does and who he is with are not your business. He $ound$ like a prize. But he's no longer your problem. How he navigates his relationship with your kids is also his business. Keep your side of the street clean and be there for your kids and just live your life.

While he had a nice face when he was younger, at this point he looks pretty unattractive. He does make $350,000 per year. This can only be for the money, right? I can't imagine truly falling for him at this stage in his life. I'm worried about what will happen to the kids if she's a gold digger.

Maybe her ex was tall, handsome, with a full head of hair, and had a hands-off approach to life, and she's looking for something completely different. Something about your ex speaks to her; there's no reason to interrogate it. Also agree with PP that $350k is a decent salary but not "gold-digger" territory once you add 4 (let alone 6) kids to the mix.

Wtf was he thinking having more kids.

Attempting to raise kids is such a failure point for men and most divorced men.

They should stay the f away from making more kids, which just overwhelms them to the point of shutdown, anger, and neglect.

Exactly. The worst exes I know it was generally pretty clear they were bad after 1 or 2 kids. You had FOUR! So I think you know exactly what she sees in him. Whatever got you pregnant with numbers 3 and 4 when he had clearly showed you who he was by then.

Well, OP, you must have seen something in him to stay and have 4 children with him. Or was it only about the money for you?

No your not. Don't even tell yourself that lie. You're worried about how easily you were replaced by someone younger who values what you didn't. You were so sure he could never do better than you at his age, but now he has and it's driving you crazy. It's not about your kids and how he spends his money now is none of your concern.
