The last time I was in New York, I took the tram to Roosevelt Island and walked around. This was due to watching Dark Water with Jennifer Connolly and reading about how it had housed a mental asylum and poor houses too, I think. (It was fitting symbolically for her to move there as she was having a mental breakdown). It was winter and gray and dark and I looked at Manhattan from the island and felt a kind of removal and isolation. It was also oddly quiet. I wanted to get back to Manhattan. The ride over in the cable car thing is so surprising that it exists. |
I worked with someone who went on a LOTR tour in New Zealand a few years ago. She loved it. |

I’m another Outlander fan (show and the books) who would love to visit Scotland as well. |
I'm not an Outlander fan but I visited Scotland last year and if you can, you should do it. It's a beautiful place and there's a ton of Outlander specific tourism if you want that. |
Same 🧡 |
My daughter actually studied abroad in NZ during her junior year of college in order to visit the movie set. ![]() |

I did the Sound of Music tour in while backpacking in Europe one college summer. Beautiful scenery. Also, that gazebo is really small! |
Same. My friend went and I was thinking why? It's cold there. Then I became hooked and went to Lallybroch two years ago. Dreamy. |
I want to go to Whistler after seeing the wedding episode in the L Word. |
Mine was Positano after seeing Under the Tuscan Sun. Diane Ladd kept dreaming of visiting poistano in the movie and she finally gets there.
I made it there too and actually got married on positano. |
