Multi-Sibling Discount

Anonymous
I can see a discount for rec, but paid coach costs should be spread out amongst all team members equally. Twins or multiple kids in a club don’t lessen the resources needed. They still have the same expenses. What are the savings for the club? Fewer parent email addresses?

Don't ask, don't get is the appropriate approach

I never whined about it, just asked a question. I also never planned on all my kids playing at a high level. It just kind of happened. We'll continue to do it discount or not, it's a huge part of our life.

I left a club w a lot of parent coaches, then I found out their kids could play for free at that particular club. Might be a huge financial windfall if your club has such a policy.
Parent of 5 kids, you may already have the skills to coach starting at the U9 level.

My kiddos play NL and RL and our coaches have years of experience. Honestly though even if I was licensed I wouldn't be able to coach one or two of them and still get the others to games, practices, etc.

Do the rest of us need to subsidize your over-breeding?!?!!

You should only give birth to an affordable number. It’s your choice.

An affordable number... haha

This is a silly response

Maryland United FC offers both family and individual sibling discounts on their programs. For families with 3 or more siblings in the club, a 7% discount is applied to the total balance. For families with 2 siblings, a 3.5% discount is applied. Additionally, sibling discounts are often offered for individual camps and clinics, such as the Speed & Agility Clinics and Winter Camps & Clinics.

Almost all clubs offer some type of financial assistance when needed. I see that as a good thing. I think multi-sibling discounts fall under that umbrella.

No way. Subsidizing someone's large family is very different from financial aid for poor kids.

We had a family throw a fit over this last summer, refusing to sign their contracts. Club held firm and they eventually signed. (Also not in DC area…. I wonder if it was OP….)

Why would anyone expect a company to subsidize their choice to have a lot of kids and put them in expensive hobbies? So ridiculously entitled.

I have 3 kids, I don’t expect discounts but I will ask for them and will take them if it’s offered. I mean I got discounts for stuff before I had kids. Just ask and be nice about it.

So many people making assumptions... it's not an expectation, but if available I will take it. Would you deny a discount if the club offered one to you?
