It's a shame that more wineries don't offer single serving size bottles. With the advancements in bottling tech, and now there are good quality screw on tops, it wouldn't be prohibitively expensive to do so with lower and mid tier wines. Even expensive wines should come this way more often, so that people could afford to buy a nice vintage without having to spend hundreds of dollars on a regular 1/5 bottle of wine. |

I buy a half bottle if I am going to have wine with dinner and DH is not.
I never want/need more but if a full bottle is open I'll have a big third glass. |

It's because beer is more filling. It has more calories, carbonation, and you drink more of it (12oz vs 5oz). There's even a diet called the Guinness Diet where you drink a Guinness before eating, because it fills you up so much you eat less.
