First job out of school: 80k in 2001. Got laid off after 9/11 and took me a few years to get back to that level. Was making in the 130-150 range in my early 30s.

My kid is 22 starting out at 80; how times have changed.

Given that 35k in 1995 adjusted for inflation would be ~74k in today’s dollars it actually doesn’t seem they have that much.

Age 35 in 2025: $152k (5% bonus)

Probably would be a bit higher but I took a mommy track job after my first was born a few years ago. One of the better decisions I've ever made.

I never made more than $15k/year until 2018, at which point I got $37k as a manager of a Starbucks (franchise), at age 32. I enrolled in graduate school, became a graduate assistant with a $750/month stipend, and graduated with an MBA in 2021. Here’s my stats (flyover country):

2019-10k
2020-43k
2021-49k
2022 (internal transfer)-2023-65k
2024-82k
2025-115k (started a month ago)
