My food pantry deliveries for my needy working families are getting cut and an extremely wealthy individuals are getting tax cuts. I can feel angry about that all by myself without anybody telling me how to feel

The Guardian. Excellent and free. they may ask you to register for free and you can donate money if you want, but it is otherwise free and a truly excellent online newspaper

Not OP, but yeah. I canceled cable a few years ago so no longer get CNN and Fox. Regular news that comes on ABC, NBC and local news is all I need to watch these days. It gives me an overall outlook on what's going on in the world and I don't have to pay for it.

News should be free.

If it's free, are they just telling you what you want to hear and more opinion than hard news?

The advertising model on websites collapsed, so if you want news from real journalists, the journalists need to be paid. Ergo, pick two or three platforms and pony up. Otherwise, you are going to be left with propaganda and garbage.
