Why are so many people off work today?! It’s not Memorial weekend, what’s going on?

In addition to college there's HS graduations. Our school had a 6th grade promotion today too.

Our elementary school had field day today and there were something like 50 parent volunteers there who had taken off work, myself included.

Yes traffic on 81 south was a nightmare and I paid $400+ for a 1 night stay in budget motel. It normally would have been $85 a night but it beat the $700 a night for the Holiday Inn up the road.

It was all worth it though. What fun to see all the happy young people and their proud families.

I'm at work. At home. In a nightgown. Making Mac & cheese and watching Grey's Anatomy while I peruse Reddit. Working hard/hardly working. Whatever.

They’re graduating into a recession. I can’t imagine they’re that happy. Look what happened to the 2008 grads.

I agree there's a lot going on this weekend-- all of the kids weekend sporting events are really short players.

We’re in a recession? You might want to check on that.

People stopped working on Fridays during Covid. I enjoy logging in at 10am, answer 2 emails, eat, watch tv, nap, then log off at 4:45p on Fridays.

Only SUCKERS work on Fridays, hahahhaaa.

A coming long weekend? People
Tacking on an extra day for travel so they can have an extra long vacation?

I’m Canadian but is this not a thing? Like we fully expect people to tack on extra days to avoid misery for weekend travel.

Also yeah, grads. People needing to move their grad home. Lots of things.
