We bought the same for our 2024 XC90 Recharge. The dongle works like a charm.

I have wireless carplay but I always plug it in anyways because its good practice to keep it charged.

No idea why this would be a dealbreaker.

Its actually annoying since both spouse and I are linked to car, and its a roll of dice who will get connected wirelessly.

I have a 5 year old XC90 and I use the Bluetooth. All the podcasts and music, Sirius work on that.
