Do you consider this a novel idea? |
I have a shelf for dry goods. It's a literal bookshelf, but it tucks nicely into a weird window nook in my kitchen. Herbs growing on the top shelf, jars of flours/ sugars/ beans/ rices (I have like six kinds, but only white and brown are in big jars-- wild, sushi, arborio, etc in smaller ones) on the middle two shelves. Bottom shelf for the bigger pots. It's a small city house, but we make do! |
| Stainless steel big containers. I keep whole wheat flour and rice in stainless steel containers. I store around 20 lbs of each. |
If you eat a lot of rice, 25 pounds won't last that long, so why worry about it? |
| Rubbermaid container in the cabinet under the countertop of the kitchen island. |
Rice weevil would be in the bag to start unfortunately |
Because then OP is then going to buy another 25 lbs and is looking for a more attractive storage solution than a constant bag of rice in the corner of their kitchen? |
| I store it in the original bag but place the entire thing in a large dogfood bin with wheels that i got from the container store. It works great. |
| I buy in 10 lbs bags and keep the bags in my basement fridge. |
| Id use mason jars |
Why would you put it in the corner??

Did you read the first post? I know it’s shocking but not everyone lives in 5000sqft homes with butler pantries. |
Some varieties come only in large bags. |
