Schools with Early / rolling decisions.

Kids I know who applied to Brown had Pitt, Macalester and WI on their lists.

W&M ranked quite a bit lower than several of these. But a girl can dream.

Definitely true at our school.

“Reach” doesn’t give any indication of how “reasonable” Brown might be.

Safety

Doesn’t likely and safety mean the same thing?

My kid applied to Brown as a reach this year. We thought W&M was a target but counselor said it was a safety. W&M ended up being her choice. It was definitely her vibe. But it was also the best place she got in. Don’t have a lot of suggestions that are less competitive than W&M for you. She applied to UMass and GA as “safeties” and got into both. But they aren’t like W&M.

? W&M is ranked higher than Santa Clara, Boston College, Connecticut College, and Wake Forest. It has higher test scores and % submitting than Santa Clara, Boston College, Connecticut College, and Wake Forest, too. Pomona is more highly ranked and has higher test scores, though.

Maybe Rochester or Sarah Lawrence if the idea of an open curriculum is appealing (which I assume it is given the interest in Brown).

That’s why I mentioned Mary Wash. Should be basically a guaranteed admit, but it has a W&M-esque feel.

I'm telling you, if he has the stats and application for Brown, William and Mary will be a safety. It's not a hard admit for a strong kid.
