Reach = Brown, Target = W&M, Likely = ??

Kid is looking for schools with similar vibes but with a higher acceptance rate. Ideas?

Northeast or CA ideally, but would consider other areas (not red states).

Likely should be a state school in the state you live in. Depending on the state, that might mean the flagship or it might not.

My kid's reach was Yale instead of Brown, but had W&M as a target, and their likelies were Pitt (not quite right on vibes, but the rolling admissions is great) and St. Olaf (better vibes fit, but the location isn't ideal). Got into both of those likelies with sizable merit. Kid will be off to W&M in the fall and is excited about it.

Not easier, but Pomona fits

Perhaps Claremont McKenna

Wrong on so many levels. First off, the 11% acceptance rate.

Same. My kids likelies were GW and American though- not Pitt

Targets- WM, BC

Got into the reach, as well as targets and likelies

Denison, Dickinson, Elon, Vermont

if your kid is at all a reasonable candidate for Brown then William and Mary should be a likely.

Likely with Brown as a reach and WM as a target, but this is not knowing stats of course:

Pitt

Not NE or California, but University of Denver would be a likely as well.
