Theme for my 4 year old’s birthday party

Do it! I would have different sandwiches

PBJ or Sun butter if there are allergies
Cheese only
Turkey and cheese
Cream cheese and jelly

Cut off the crusts, cut into smaller pieces

Strawberries, pretzels, goldfish, mini juice boxes, mini bottles of water

I was thinking sun butter and jelly, grilled cheese, and maybe turkey and cheese? Should I offer something nicer for adults?

I would skip grill cheese since it can not really be made much in advance

This. A birthday party is a party that already has a theme. The theme is birthday. Anyone who judges you can be slow faded before your kid gets attached to theirs.

We don't do themed birthdays at all. The theme is "birthday". I might have them go with me to choose some things for a goodie bag or the plates/napkins we'll use. But my kids are now 8 and 10 and have never even noticed there isn't a theme.

I live in a nice neighborhood in NYC and my kid just turned 4. He didn't get a theme and 90% of the parties we've been too there's been no theme. Just chill playground parties.

In the 3-6 age range, my kids’ favorite parties were “bring table to playground with pizza and cake” parties. The nicer parties (rented room, planned activities) were never so fun to them- they just wanted to run wild with their friends, and not be directed through a craft.
