belt bag worn as crossbody

Anonymous
I remember this being hotly debated on this forum a couple of years ago I think? Now I think it's gotten popular enough that it's just a "you do you" kinda thing. I personally wear my belt bags around my waist but I generally don't sweat the possibility of judgement about such things (thankfully).

I'm the ^^ PP and I just realized that one of my belt bags keeps sliding down so maybe I will wear that one across my body!

Same.

Wear it normally on the hips. Try-hards do the "Oh I'm too cool to wear it on the hips" kinda look.

Lol, this.

You can just use a cute small cross body bag. There’s lots of them out there— they can hold a phone and couple other things.

It is so much more flattering on me to wear it as a crossbody. If I had a model figure, maybe the fanny pack as actual fanny pack would work ok.

It’s absolutely out of date. But you know what? I don’t care and still do it. Incredibly functional. My kids know I mean business when I sling it to my back.

What do you do in the summer when its too hot for jackets

Not the above PP but I do the same. This summer I'll have my phone in my shorts pockets and the keys/chapstick zipped into my light jacket tied around my waist. I still make sure I have a jacket for air-conditioning. There's just no need for anything else anymore with Apple Pay and ID photos. I do love the belt bag on vacations. There's just more stuff needed for flights and touring. And I wear it crossbody for security.

I just bought this, which is essentially a small crossbody or shoulder bag styled like a fanny pack: https://www.uniqlo.com/us/en/products/E473474-000/00

I have bigger bags that are nicer and put things in my pockets instead when I have pockets but plan to use this when I for example go for a walk with a friend and we might stop for a drink after. So I need phone, credit card, chapstick, maybe sunglasses

I have preferred a small backpack for years as it can also hold a water bottle, diaper, etc. However I am getting sick of it and don’t want to take it on long walks. I just got a small fanny pack that is only big enough for phone,
keys, and wallet. I wear skirts, dresses and light weight pants and shorts that sag if I use the pockets (if they have pockets at all).

I feel like this crossbody satchel trend is pretty recent. It’s very mom, but hey what mom is sticking chapstick and trail mix in $300 purse??

“Hands free belt satchel” is the the proper name
