| They’re not similar at all. A student looking at Pitzer would be looking at Vassar, Wesleyan, and Macalester rather than Pomona. |
+1 |
Macalester was one of my Pomona kid’s safeties, and strongly considered applying to Wesleyan as well. |
My Pomona kid also applied to Wes and Mac. I think Swarthmore also fits within the group. |
| Brown is a school a lot of Pomona students apply to, and I wouldn't find it that dissimilar to Pitzer. Pomona to CMC is a much bigger step. |
Yes Brown is a good safety for Pomona applicants? |
That's not what I said. |
So you were just posting irrelevant info in the thread? Why not throw some parchment “data” in too? |
Wow. What a far reaching assumption from someone without direct experience with either Pitzer or Pomona! My DS is at the 5Cs and no one thinks or acts like that at all! In fact, not only has he taken classes across the 5cs as have found them equally challenging and interesting, but he has found engaged, interesting and intelligence classmates at every Claremont college. He has friends in all the 5cs and there is no “lower order”. Regarding varsity athletics, Pitzer and Pomona play on the same teams so there are strong bonds and friendships among teammates. Again, no “lower order”. He did mention that Pomona students tend to be the most arrogant, yet not necessarily the most intelligence. |
Are you actually mentally slow? Learn to read and maybe get a damn degree before spreading such stupid ideas. People like you should disappear. |
| Seen people try this. Remember Pitzer still has a small acceptance rate. |
This is the move. Also Pitzer-Pomona play on same sports teams and are sister colleges within the 5Cs if that helps. |
Yeah, in my kid's private the cluster of schools of interest for these kids (including reach/targets/safety) are: Brown, Pomona, Vassar, Wesleyan, Pitzer, Macalester, Skidmore. |
| One of my DC's classmates did exactly this, Pomona was dream school, Pitzer 2nd. Got into Pitzer for class of '29, just moved in on the 16th and is very happy. |
yay! |
