+1 Do these people not enjoy Stock? |
| Tell us more about the members. Old, young, adventurous, on diets? What did they serve you on their turns? I once hosted a group (unknown to me) that seemed to all be on a diet. People barely tried anything. I wish I had known and saved myself the effort. |
I love salt. I'm allergic to fish and shellfish. I dislike lamb and goat cheese. I would happily eat salty bacon, chips, chinese food loaded with MSG. So don't blame this problematic menu on salt. It's just terrible food choices by OP. |
Honestly, what the heck? Talk about rude. "Terrible food choices"? SOME people like to be adventurous and creative. Chinese food "loaded" with MSG? Come on. |

This has too much fish. You need something vegetarian. It's too odd.
Nuts, crackers, some decent cheeses, veggies with dip, small sandwiches, variety of good cookies. You can get these from a good market or deli; doesn't have to be Costco stuff. Or charcuterie board as someone else suggested with stuff for vegetarians too. |
Not all people are allergic to fish and shellfish. Seriously what a stupid reason to criticize these menu choices. |
|
Well, I now feel pretty embarrassed.
I was just trying to be creative for a foodie crowd. |
Yes you should be very embarrassed on an anonymous forum |
Better to feel embarrassed on DCUM than in front of real people. |
Fish and shellfish are very controversial as a menu item. Lots of people don't eat them, for a variety of reasons. |
+1 I really enjoy grilled olives, grilled artichokes and a sundried tomato spread or something like that, served with crostini. That could easily be part of the board. |
| How about some beef liver pâté to go with the bone broth? |
| I would eat the crabmeat dip in the Frito bowl, the lamb meatballs, grapes and cookies, pp. I didn't realize book clubs had good food. |
With a side of durian for the vegetarians... |
The +1 part sounds really good.. |
