Hope those Paul Weiss partners enjoy representing crooked cops pro bono. |
Wonder if beating cops with flag poles while wearing a MAGA hat or Camp Auschwitz sweatshirt is legal and encouraged? But I guess with militarizing local cops it will get scary fast in some areas of the U.S. |
It's going to be everyone this time. These are the people who thought it was ok to beat Capitol police and take over the Capitol. They don't care who they hurt...white, black Hispanic, Asian... Guess what will happen when MAGAs who lose their businesses due to tariffs start to revolt. |
Why they'll blame Pelosi! Why wouldn't they? |
White people have been getting shot in the back by cops for centuries and no one cares. |
Already a thread about this |
I didn’t see that one before I started this one because the title didn’t describe the subject. Way too vague. |
+1. We aren’t stupid enough to burn down our own neighborhoods and destroy local communities over white criminals getting shot by police. Shoulda followed a lawful order. Oh well. |
So when did this Martial Law EO drop yesterday?
I was out after dark last night and didn’t get machinegunned by Trump Troops. What happened??? I was assured there’d be martial law…. |
Sorry you’re disappointed. You should read the EO. |
This is actually an interesting question. Paul Weiss and the other Biglaw firms do pro bono work for clients of their choosing for causes they choose. If they are assigned cases by Trump, they will represent those clients and causes as they choose, not how they are directed by Trump or Bondi. They won't support dirty cops, for example, or make dubious legal arguments. |
No this is not the agreement according to Trump. It is laughable to think these firms will not do whatever Trump tells them to do. |
I heard Trump will make these firm go after gay marriage. Trump will arrest a gay married partner with kids and have their own firm prosecute them! |
That wasn’t the deal. He told them they have to take as many cases for conservative causes as they do liberal. I don’t understand HOW he can get away with telling them who to work for at all - and for FREE no less. HOW is that possible? So they have to defend just as many people who violate our rights as those whose rights are violated, for example. Plus, anyone who isn’t a member of the cult knows he always asks for more, pulls the rug out from under you, or throws you under the bus eventually. |
It's called community service. Companies do this all the time as part of DOJ, SEC, FTC, and other types of settlements. https://digitalcommons.law.yale.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=7448&context=ylj (written by none other than former FBI Director Christopher Wray) |
