Not familiar with the egg rolls OP is referring to, but few places seem to serve the old fashioned kinds of egg rolls that were ubiquitous when I was a kid. It's all thin spring rolls these days and I don't think I've seen the big fat thicker egg rolls of the 1980s Cantonese/Hunan style restaurants at H-Mart or other Asian supermarkets. |

| I’m confused by the posters saying that Chinese restaurants aren’t making the egg rolls they serve. Admittedly, I get spring rolls instead of egg rolls, but the spring rolls are definitely different from one restaurant to another. No two places I order from serve the same ones. Is there much less variety in egg rolls? |
And if there are really good similar ones at H Mart, can someone share more info - prepared foods, frozen, brand? |
