I didn’t lose my job at state dept

I'm glad for you, OP. I hope to have the same opportunity for gratitude and generosity when my department hands out RIF notices next month.

My husband was USAID and he has mourned the loss of a nearly 25 year meaningful government career.

I hope you remain safe.

USAID losses will be felt for generations. Thank your husband for his contributions/support - those folks worked so very diligently for the greater good. Yes, I am biased, but hands down my favorite client across multiple jobs.

I am very, very liberal and even have criticism of State for being too conservative at times, but you only have to know one person at State to know the dedication and sacrifice so many have given over the years. It’s a damn shame it’s not shouted from the rooftops:diplomacy is the road to peace.

I wish peace for your family, a swift change in this government, and a wake up call for all the former State folks who voted for this mess.

Absurd.

If diplomacy is the road to peace, why the $300 billion sent to Ukraine by US taxpayers? No diplomacy, shuttle or otherwise, was in play until Witkoff came on the scene.

+1. One thing we know for sure is that there are more cuts to come. Enjoy today, for tomorrow may be different. Don’t say you weren’t warned.
