Is this for your child's friend? Your child knows what her friend wants. I took my child to Target and she picked out a bunch of things she knows her friend would like. If this is for a niece or the child of a friend, then you need to ask the child's parent what they like. We can't help you, we don't know the child.

Don't get a gift card, how lame.

Or the ingredients to make boba tea at home? It’s fun to do, inexpensive, and fairly universally loved by tween girls. Cute gift bag and you are sorted.

If she has everything, couldn’t she apportion 10% of it and donate it to your charity of choice?

Write her a letter. She won’t appreciate it, but who cares? If you live with abundance, gifts can be low cost and personal.

This post is so strange. Are gifts being randomly given to strangers? If these are your kid’s friends, then your kid should know what they like. The truth is that I’m finding that girls this age actually discuss in advance what to give/get. So, it isn’t even a surprise. But even if my kid gets invited to a party that isn’t one of her closer friends, she would know if the kid was a Sephora type girl or a boba tea type girl or something else.

If these are family members, do you never see them? If not, ask their parents.

gift cards are not lame - but agree that you should ask your friend. there may be a favorite treat or something her daughter wants/likes. does she go to the pool in the summer - a new beach towel or a favorite sunscreen? or a favorite shampoo? simple things can be good gifts too!

I feel like this is an age where their interests and likes are very unique. If I look at what her friends are into and what they get at parties, a lot of it is very specific to the girl.

Barnes and Noble gift cards seem to be a gift of choice among my 13 year old's friends this year, but much of that probably has to do with her friends being bookish.

We usually give a gift card and a small gift, depending on what the kid is into. Gave Target gift card for $15 and face masks and lip balms because that is what one friend is into. Another friend got a small stuffed animal and a gift card.

What about a charitable donation in her name?

To summarize this thread, someone will think every suggestion is terrible. We don’t know the girl.

I personally like the gift card ideas but some of the stores suggested have gone out of bust in our area.

So i suggest cash.

I donate to a cause they will like. If their beloved grandma died of Alzheimers I donate to a charity that does research for them, if they love sea otters, I donate to a sea otter rescue, etc.
