DC Attorney General investigating medical journals for bias

What a waste of taxpayers money to go after this.

I'm a scientist who publishes. This is likely another DEI probe- journals are often asking authors to address how they have handled items such as lack of racial diversity of their samples and other DEI considerations. These are instructions to authors that are publicly displayed on the websites.

To what end though? Bullying, intimidation, silence?

Or produce nothing new and point them to citations and provide the original text. That’s what I would do. Plenty of law students would do it for free

I’m not ready to be hysterical yet. I don’t think anyone with any deep knowledge of science has a lot of respect left for Scientific American, for instance. Now why the administration is bothering with this, I don’t know, but the Biden administration certainly fried some extremely small fish, so it’s not unprecedented.

Because it impacts human health? For example, more areas become hotter and people die in the summer, if the areas aren’t set up for adequate cooling, especially of the elderly. Mosquitos that transmit tropical diseases get new habitats. You can’t heath the planet and not have impacts, both predictable and not, on the entire ecosystem.

This is not the DC Attorney General. This is the US Attorney General for the District of Columbia. The two positions are not the same and have different authority. It is akin to the NY AG is different for the USAG for NY. Two different positions with different authorities and responsibilities.

this is shaking down exactly like I thought it would. There are plenty of DC issues that stem from its unique relationship with the federal government, like law enforcement, park land, tax, transit. Yet MAGA has zero ideas or even desire to help with those problems.

this is correct. However it is also correct that this is another MAGA waste of time, energy, and money "owning the libs". Much bigger concerns/issues right now and we all know it. America is a total embarrassment under this circus of an admin.
