Need advice with 9 year old son bedwetting?

Sadly, it probably is real. A boy on Long Island died after being made to sleep in garage as punishment.

You can try the bedwetting alarm. Never worked for my kid- he just pulled it off in his (deep) sleep.

Your new husband doesn’t get a vote on this. He is wrong.

Yes. My parents were from that generation (born in late 1930s) where the good little wifey did not question her husband. My father was the disciplinarian, and my mother would just say, "Wait until your father gets home." I learned a lot about how not to parent.

Can you say more about trying the alarms? How consistent were you? How long did you try it? What kind did you use?

op here I belive it was wetstop tried it for a month.

We used the Malem. It’s about $100 which is 3x the price of the Wetstop. That might account for it not being as effective for you.

I found that it was like having a newborn again. We pulled out the baby monitor because we had to hear the alarm go off and move immediately as soon as it went off. It took a couple of months, and we had to do it every night. If you’re up for it, I’d give it another go. Good luck to you.

Op here we get some money around well buy a better alarm my son thinks he's the only one wetting the bed at an older age and wearing goodnites to bed . I told him I'm sure there's plenty of others . Anybody else have a kid that wet past a common age.

Have you double checked blood sugar? That was the actual cause for my kid - diabetes.

PP again - just coming back to mention that obviously diabetes is very rare and unlikely, but it definitely wouldn’t hurt to do a fingerstick or test urine at the pediatrician.

op here most of the time they don't leak just trow rhe pull-up in the trash . If they do I get most of it son helps.

Nine year old should be allowed to completely take care of clean up. I probably wouldn’t even initiate any discussion, unless I’m missing something.

Dd is 10 and she wets probably 5 nights a week . We just have her wear goodnites . She throws it away in the morning no bigge . We just buy them and don't make a big deal out of it she goes to sleepovers and it's never been an issue just give the mom a heads up .

I hate to admit this but ds just stopped wetting the bed a couple of months ago. He's 12 we just used goodnites and waited it out . Kids who wet will stop eventually we tried several things to get him to stop with no luck . What finally stopped it was puberty beginning. We still have half a package of goodnites in storage just incase gona throw them out soon . It will stop in time Goodluck.
