say goodbye to the flu shot...they don't even have FDA staff to approve next year's flu make up that the manufacturers have to start planning for now.

You got me on not listening. When he got to the part about how my 65 year old friend with autism who has been a brilliant architect for their entire life and is a multi-millionaire would “never pay taxes,” I tuned out.

I didn’t get any talking points though. Are there some going around? Can you send them?

Are the non-“whackadoos” who attest that it has nothing at all to do with the MMR vaccine being funded by Pfizer? Moderna?
Or is it possible that it’s the same non-“whackadoos” who told us that covid probably came from some wet market in wuhan but couldn’t possibly have come from a bio lab in the same city that focuses on….oh—I dunno—virus testing!?!

Maybe people asking common sense questions should not be discouraged when you want people to trust “the science”? Does it mean their conclusions are accurate? No. But if the positions are so “whackadoo” then why the anger? Why not just present a study that demonstrates why the supposition isn’t accurate and explain why it is t plausible.

Once upon a time, “the science” wasn’t intimidating by people questioning the conclusions. In fact, “the science” welcomed the questions so that tests could be repeated and results could be duplicated to demonstrate proof.

Well put.

No, it's not "well put". It shows how completely uneducated you both are on the topic. No one is discouraging "common sense questions." They are pointing out that these questions have been asked, and answered, by hundreds of studies. It is literally one of the most well research questions in the entire field! Jesus, do some reading!

Also, if you want to point fingers at disreputable scientists, you need to go back to the fraudster who started it all: Wakefield, who was secretly funded by personal injury lawyers who were suing vaccine makers.

Because reputable scientists, experts in their field, have determined that the benefits by far outweigh the risks.

Right. Just like Type I diabetes in twins, correct?

^^(even in identical twins, sometimes only one develops Type I diabetes)

Haven’t we suffered enough?

He has clearly not read the studies that show eye tracking technology used on infants can help predict an autism diagnosis later on. BEFORE the MMR vaccine is given.

He claims genes can “do no more than predispose” someone to autism- but that is demonstrably false. There are certain genetic changes- chromosomal- that *cause* autism. No environmental impacts. Mild autism and moderate autism and severe autism. They account for 3-5% of diagnoses.

I was 32, yoga/Whole Foods healthy, fit when I got pregnant with my autistic son. Had an air purifier in my home and car. Drank purified water. When we went to genetics, they identified a genetic mutation.

I mean if the option is children dying vs Autism I'm picking Autism but I'm not even putting g any weight into these stupid ideas.

He wants to do all this while slashing the HHS budget by 40%. Real winning.

I'm sad that Jeff locked the other Autism thread. I was about to gloat about RFK Jr. calling it a diagnosis that devastates a family. To the poster expressing anger at a school counselor trying to show appropriate empathy. Welcome to the new world where all neurodivergent people are undesirables -.-

And? Your child is the anomaly. The majority of autistic children do not have an identifiable genetic mutation. Fragile X, Rett, etc. are not commonplace especially among Level 1.

Unclear how cutting all this creates a healthy America.

No Sh**. I didn’t say genes were everything. The point was that the head of HHS is saying genetics can’t be the total cause… but it CAN be. He’s not choosing his words carefully because 1) he is trying to deceive for political gain or 2) he doesn’t know the basics.
The level of autism is irrelevant to my comment. But since you bring it up, autism is increasing among ALL levels. We are not mostly or only concerned about level 1. surely your point is not that we are only concerned about level 1? The increase in diagnoses in the level 1 category- far more than level 2 or 3- can most easily fall into the category of broadened diagnostic criteria and increased awareness.

^but it it is still considered 60-90% inheritable.

Not due to vaccines or tap water.
