Planes at DCA

Dulles and only Dulles. It's also so much more chill. DCA is always so busy.

This is not about AIR traffic control.

This is ramp or ground control.

Worth remembering that Trump/DOGE cut FAA's budget, and that some of these accidents have been attributed to overworked staff doing two jobs when they should be doing one.

Then why is this happening at DCA repeatedly and not IAD?

The airport has too many flights. Everyone said it was too many before Congress shoved it through last year. Not everything is Trump's fault. There are so many things that ARE his fault no need to add extras.

It isn't even ground control. ATC does not separate aircraft on taxiways. Ground control tells a pilot where to go, but it is the pilot's responsibility to not run into another aircraft. Non-event except politically.

I'll be flying out of Dulles for the foreseeable future.

Save except I already spent $5000 on tickets out of dca tomorrow. Hopefully we make it.

I fly out of DCA 4+ times a year with no plans to change.
