| A somewhat nice-ish restaurant to me says $10 for shared apps, $30 entree, $10 for dessert, $5 drinks, $20 for tax and tip. Seems reasonable to me. |
To be clear, I don't know if that is reasonable to expect a kid to spend, but the cost for what they have picked seems reasonable. |
| It's not reasonable for my budget or my kid's. I wouldn't pay for that. |
Ok Almond mom. |
Whatever. Enjoy your cramp on the dance floor. |
|
Seems reasonable to me…
But if it is something I find unnecessary (whether prom, super expensive clothing item or activity or whatever), I make my kid cover the difference from their own $. You could always say “I will contribute $30 but you will have to make up the difference- that is very expensive” (or similar) |
WTF is wrong with Cheesecake Factory for a bunch of teens? The snobbery here can be insufferable. |
| Also - Cheesecake Factory isn’t cheap either, with apps/entrees/drinks/dessert/tip |
| My kid and their friends literally went to Cheesecake Factory before prom last week. |
Your friends are financially irresponsible and dumb. This is why Americans are in the stupider time. As a person that could easily afford this for all of my children I will survive trumps takeover but you and your friends will not. |
| What restaurant would take a reservation for 16-18 yr olds? Sounds insane. Can’t they break off to smaller groups. 50 people trying to go together to prom is ridiculous |
* 50 16-18 yr olds. |
| Is the $100 for bus and $75 for dinner in addition to the prom tickets? How much are those? |
| $75 actually seems low |
| ETA: Restaurant prices are very high right now |
