Passports within the last couple months?

This was my experience too. I was very happily surprised at how quickly they came back.

U.S. Passport Application Status

We’re having issues with our system and cannot currently provide your passport application status online.

Current status: In process.

Passports have been shipped. We did pay for expedited but even by those standards this process was lighting fast!

10 days from post office appointment for the kids to passport shipment notification!

Better do it asap.

With the voting law requiring women (people who changed their names) to have a passport to prove they are US citizens, there may be a rush on getting passports by those who can afford them.

Both my kids renewed recently…one submitted in January and the other in March…took 3 1/2 weeks from application submission to receipt of new passport.

Always remarkable to.me how few people understand the legislative process. The House voted to approve that bill a few weeks ago. It will need 60 votes in the Senate to avoid a filibuster, and there is very little chance 7 Dems will hop over to vote for it. It also failed last year in the Senate.

I just wanted to share my experience renewing my passport recently. I didn't want to take any chances that it fall into some DOGE-caused black hole, so I chose expedited service (2-3 weeks) and mailed it via priority mail from my local post office.

From the day it was received until the day it was returned by mail, it took a total of 10 days. I live in NOVA. I received emails from the SD at every point in the process to let me know the status of my renewal.

Online renewal submitted April 20 and passport arrived in the mail today. Less than 2 weeks! Pleasantly surprised and found the process to be easy. Hardest part was the photo - we don't have any white or off white walls. Had to have my kids hold up a white sheet and hold it tight to smooth out any fabric wrinkles. When you upload the photo it gives you feedback immediately if the photo meets criteria or not.
