Passports within the last couple months?

Has anyone renewed their passport in the last couple months?

Im wondering how long the wait is. We are supposed to travel in the fall of 2025, and just realized my passport will expire less than 6 months after the trip. UGH!

Yes, had passport appointment at post office the first week of March. Had passport in hand 4 weeks later (last week). This was regular service, not expedited. So I think you have plenty of time.

I used walk-in hour at the post office on 3/13 and did not expedite it. Received it on 4/2. Very quick!

Fall is a long way off, just renew it now. If you don't need it before then, you 100 percent will be fine.

But also many places don't actually require 6 months validity remaining. Try this site (doesn't matter if you are flying United or not): https://www.united.com/en/us/travel/trip-planning/travel-requirements

Renew now and if need be you can expedite it w/in 2 weeks of travel.

Recently applied for DD, was told it was going to be up to 6 weeks for regular, not expedited. Chose regular. We'll see.

Renewed online in early March and had it in hand in 8 calendar days mailed to my house.

Thank you for this thread. DH and I are going to Europe in November, he is stalling on renewing his dang passport and this makes me feel better!

We renewed DS' around Valentine's Day and got it about 5 weeks later, not expedited.

Online renewals seem to be getting processed quickly. Who knows what the future will bring though so I’d renew now.

We’re still waiting on my kids renewals submitted March 14 at a passport office. Non expedited. They said it should take 4-6 weeks. We’ll see. They’re in process.

Applied in late January. 2 kids (which have to be new applications even if they had them before) and 2 adult renewals. Both took less than a month with no expediting fees at all.

We applied for the kids around Presidents' Day and received them back a month later. Not expedited. I agree to just do it now- who knows what the future will bring - but I think they are being processed normally for the time being.

^PP. just got a notice that they shipped and I should have them 4/15. So less than a month for non expedited. I’m also not in the DC area.
