Meaning what? Where will they be practicing/playing out of? |
| This who thing sounds like there are going to be lots of lawsuits. What a mess. |
|
They just need to update the bylaws of the PVAHA to change the official location of WLC practices and games. Right now only Medstar and Ion are approved.
—— Tier I Associations: Tier I organizations may only hold team practices and home games at authorized rinks. Any changes in authorized ice rinks must be approved by the Affiliate before the organization holds any activity at another Affiliate rink facility. The Affiliate currently recognizes the following Tier I programs: • Team Maryland - Rockville Ice Arena, Piney Orchard, The Gardens Ice House, Cabin John, and Ice World • Washington Little Capitals - Medstar Capitals Iceplex, ION Training Center • Washington Pride (Girls) - Rockville Ice Arena and Cabin John |
| St. james will have plenty on ice available now since they also cut all of their A teams |
I agree with this but then why are they telling parents they won't be playing at STJ? ION is shutting its doors and MedStar won't take them, so PVAHA should easily switch them over to STJ if asked. |
|
How do you not check this before you write a contract between STJ and WLC?
And is it that PVAHA doesn’t want change the by-laws? Or they just don’t want to add St. James to it but they’ll add some other rink? |
| Ignore ^ I see the other thread about can’t own Tier 1 and Tier II |
| Families will be ripping up their contracts with Little Caps if this is true. |
They should be doing this anyway. Spend $20K a year to end up playing ACHA 2 or pay for play Jrs and end up at Miseracordia, MCLA, Neumann or other great NCAA D3 program....Play Ashburn, more fun and better coaching. Of course many WLC kids can't make Ashburn. While TM is a mess, there is at least some record of advancement. |

From their email this morning:
WLC and STJ had an exclusive agreement under a Letter of Intent, however this has expired and a deal was not finalized. WLC has re opened discussions with other rink options for the 2025-26' season. Anyone who was trying out for WLC due to expectations of playing at STJ and would like a refund, please email hockey director Mike Donnellan at mike@washingtonlittlecapitals.com |
Uh oh Pee Wee parents. Tier 2 tryouts are done. |
Both LC and TM are, at best AA+ teams. They would be competitive with the higher end AA teams in CBHL at each age group but calling them AAA quality is a stretch. Same goes with Pride for the girls. Most parents just don't want to drive so far and pay so much for what amounts to average coaching and talent. |
Who in their right minds let all this happen under a Letter of Intent? St James cut 1/3 of their teams to make this happen and are now left with an incredible amount of unused ice. |
Let us know if you see Tim G. at Staples printing off a stack of resumes

|
Well since tryourts for Tier II aren't until the end of April STJ can always add those teams back.
