Vienna vs McLean for 2016G

It’s like Pep learned everything he knows while coaching at McLean or something.

Vienna. McLean is not the program it used to be.

McLean. Stronger technical skills from the early ages.

And if they happen to score they pack everyone into their penalty box to play defense. So you can obviously see who is teaching and who is reaching for wins even though they come far and few between.

That kickball style seems a lot like what they do Union. Vienna must be the birthplace of such mid to below level play. Our 2nd and 3rd teams at McLean are better options than any team at Vienna.

Uhh, are your 2nd and 3rd teams better than your first or something?

PS. This isn’t just one poor season. Last year, 5/6 McLean Green teams finished below same-age VYS Phoenix teams playing full field. The stats don’t support your claim.

McLean still has a stronger program and that’s without their top players that moved on to ECNL national teams. How many 2013 Vienna players made FVU vs McLean? And that’s without a pathway to FVU for McLean.

Is VYS site down?

My child is a 2016G. We’ve played both teams in that age group and McLean is stronger by far. Their girls were very tall, fast and physical and played a much more organized game. Was really impressed with that team.

Go to both tryouts or reach out to the directors to answer questions about development.

How can I find out about the tryouts if the VYS site is down?

I don’t understand how a club where 5/6 teams are worse than another club is somehow a stronger program. Vienna has more girls on Union’s best team (2010) than McLean.

It may be true for U9 (playing 7v7), but it simply does not hold true as the girls develop.

Vienna has more girls on the Union teams, and a lot of McLean girls were cut this year to make space for Vienna and other “partner” clubs. If you want to end up at FVU, McLean will count against you. Their programs also have lost some coaches, so it remains to be seen how good they are. They have NO name coaches. Agree with PP who says it’s just not what it used to be.

So tell us how many 2013 Vienna girls made FVU vs McLean 2013?
