So basically no "news" on any principals leaving (being forced to leave other otherwise) except for at Hearst which is apparently voluntary. |
|
My guess is that it was a suggested voluntary departure, but that is pure speculation based on our playground parent chatter. |
Great news here. Takoma really has turned a corner with stability and popularity. |
Nope. He doesn’t respect work/life balance and what it means to work contract hours. |
I agree. He is a hard worker. |
I tried to get a job there and feel like I dodged a bullet. Was he the keynote speaker for preservice week that basically said teachers should be working Saturdays? |
That’s the one! |
lol no wonder they are keeping him on. Sounds like an Elon-wannabe. |
How do you know this? |
All I know as a parent is that every teacher and classroom aide my child has worked with at Takoma over the last 3 years is still teaching at the school. I wouldn’t necessarily expect that if the work environment was super toxic. |
Without turning this into a Takoma thread- the same for us. Parent of a Takoma family and the turnover is quite low. All my childrens teachers/aides also still there. |
I thought that was the principal at Hyde-Addison - a principal at one of the wealthiest schools in the city telling a bunch of Title 1 teachers we don't work enough. |
Definitely the Takoma principal and instructional coach or AP who look like they sacrifice it ALL for DCPS fame. The campus is gorgeous. The teachers I know there are amazing.
|
Work environment makes a big difference, for sure. I also wonder what the likelihood is that those Takoma teachers and other staff live closer to their school work location. I've worked with some awesome teachers in DC who LOVED their schools but eventually cracked under the weight of the commute and the costs of working in a city. |
