Un Je Ne Sais Quoi has the best pastries in DC. If you’re willing to trek to Takoma/Silver Spring, Mansa Kunda has unique and delicious desserts. https://mansakunda.com/ and https://www.washingtonpost.com/goingoutguide/restaurants/takoma-parks-terrific-mansa-kunda-provides-a-portal-to-west-africa/2019/08/12/64d86c08-bad0-11e9-bad6-609f75bfd97f_story.html |
I had never heard of Mansa Kunda but its menu looks fantastic. Have you eaten here, besides the desserts 😊. |
I have! It’s all very good. |

I'm surprised most of these are bakeries. I guess most of us don't eat out enough to recommend pastry chefs at specific restaurants.
Anyway, here is a list to add: https://www.washingtonian.com/2024/09/05/craving-a-sweet-treat-here-are-the-best-desserts-in-the-dc-area/ |
We got cake for Christmas at tout de sweet and it was good. The mousse cake at Stella’s or the almond cake at Stella’s ate both amazing (Rockville or north bethesda, depending on who you ask). |
Honey cake at Sharbat bakery in Adams Morgan, or any of their other layer cakes. |
is this a joke? it is a national chain, basically equivalent to grocery store cakes |
