| Looking for some interesting desserts to purchase for a small group. Wanted to try something from Saku Saku Flakerie but it’s too late to order. We usually go with Baked & Wired but want to change it up if possible! Somewhere in NW DC or close-in Bethesda. . . |
| Bread Furst has cake, brownies, cookies, sometimes pie! |
| Au Je Ne Sais Quoi - near Dupont Circle. Interesting and delicious. |
| Patisserie Poupon, Boulangerie Christophe |
| Tour de sweet in Bethesda. |
| We like Tatte. We are not fancy - I have never heard of the other places. |

Agree with tout de sweet or boulangerie Christophe in bethesda. Praline also good.
Also, as a less “fancy” choice — just go to Pollo Rico and get a bunch of tres leches cakes and the cookies filled with dulce de leche. Super delicious. Or you could probably get a bunch of baklavas or similar from Lebanese taverna or moby dick. |

I’m going to first and foremost plug Breads Unlimited in Bethesda - small family owned bakery in the Bradley Road Shopping Center - fantastic bakery and lovely family. Great cookies (deli/tea cookies), breads, donuts, babkas, pound cakes, and more.
We also love Fresh Baguette in Bethesda - in particular the tarte normande is fantastic. Both of these places have savory items, too. Love them! |
| Parkway Deli |
| Rose Avenue Bakery in Woodley Park. Unique Asian-influenced/flavors. |
| Pâtisserie poupon has lovely desserts. |
|
Banana split and the mango cheesecake in Kafe Leopold.
Alfajores in El Patio if they are fresh. |
| Not many of the places named here have layer cakes, is there anywhere in NW for a good cake? |
| Weve had good luck at Wagshals for bakery cakes. |
What do you recommend at this one? |
