Mid Atlantic Aspire teams

We should probably wait for the rest of the announcements to find out realignment.

Both leagues will have to realign

I believe they are trying to realign with the high school seasons too, VA and south play in the spring and MD and north teams play in the fall.

Can you tell me how this impacts the schedule? I have a younger kid and haven’t reached this stage yet.

I hope GA keeps things as is with some additions on Mid Atlantic. Definitely easier to trave to PA or NJ than NC.

Our TD told us to expect a realignment designed around high school season. Yes to NC. No to MD / PA / NJ.
we were also told club would try to set back to back play in NC.

CISC and CDA in one trip
Triangle and Wake in another

Assuming all in the new Mid Atlantic South

It always blows my mind how little consideration is giving to scheduling back to back for parents. It's not about the kids, because they play Sat/Sun all the time.

In fact, I'd be happy giving up home and away, for one off travel, just play both games for the season in a weekend.

Sure, fine we'll travel 3hours somewhere, but then don't ask me to go back anywhere near there a week later.

At U15 and above, if you have teams in MD that are off club from August-November during their HS season, and then teams in VA that are off February-May for their HS season. And they are in the same conference, it means they only can play each other in a tiny window from Veterans Day to Presidents Day (also the coldest and worst weather time of the year here). So bunch of cold weather games or games that can get cancelled with no possibility of makeup.

In my experience this is often considered. It's a shame if the leagues/clubs aren't doing this

PP- Thanks so much! This is helpful context.

The current mid-Atlantic teams made long trips what - once per season (or year) and no overnights. Now they add more local teams but will have to travel farther AND deal with overnights? That seems dumb.

Agree, but wondering if this is how things will actually shake out. So many unknowns.
