| Are we expecting the all of the clubs in the GA mid Atlantic group to have Aspire teams? How will the level of competition compare to ECNL-R in the DMV? |
| They will aspire to play well….. |
Well that clears things up. |
Probably better than ECRL. Virginia ECRL run by VPSL and too many teams with bottom half not really good or competitive with other ECRL leagues. |
ECRL is a good comparison. GA will be around the top half of ECRL and Aspire will be around the bottom half. Pick a team, not a league. |
That league is out of control....some bottom half clubs have no business playin the same league as the top teams. One team had a double digit beat down, and the league adjusted the score to only 7-0 so it wouldn't look so bad. We're a 2nd team and we have beat a handful of the ECNL RL teams. I think ECNL RL just cast too wide of a net and let too many clubs in. |
Oof. That sounds bad. This is why I’m curious about the range of teams that will be in GA2. Maybe different competition will be better. |
| I think in this area it may be: Loudoun, Revolution, possibly St. James, McLean, SYC, ASA if they don't get GA, Skyline, and the rest depends on what they do with the Mid-Atlantic conference. Maybe MD teams for u13-u14. There is a rumor about the conference including NC teams so could possibly see that alignment as well. |
| will GA Mid Atlantic be the same set up next year as this year? I think it will be different and Aspire will line up with the new set up, so kind of hard to see who will play who as far as competition goes |
Independence and other NC GA teams were told conference would be VA/NC next year in GA. |
So no MD and PA? Or would the new region include MD and PA too? Any word on when this would be officially announced? |
Its because ECNL outsourced the Virgina ECRL management to VPSL instead of running it themselves. Thus not selective enough on teams, too many teams, don't enforce one team at every age group, don't follow ECNL/ECRL rules on no re-entry within a half. Also, why Virginia ECRL gets fewer teams in ECRL playoffs because they don't want to adhere to all the rules. Rest of the ECRL conferences run directly by ECNL (believe Florida is outsourced as well) are run differently and adhere to higher standards on teams. |
That would be way too big geographically for travel and for number of teams in one conference. Charlotte to Philly is a 9+ hour drive. Also very hard to schedule as MD/PA play high school ball in Fall opposite of VA. |
There has been a ton of talk about this, but like everything else, GA is playing games. There is talk about a North Atlantic division that is MD/PA/DE(if they still have the team)/NJ/NY (just the areas close to NYC) But who knows. We were going to leave our NJ GA team even if we didnt move to Virginia. I was ridiculous that we have to go to Syracuse and Rhode Island when there were other teams in NJ that we didnt even play |
| Charlotte to the DMV is not exactly close. |
