Rankings are a joke. |
Well, not quite "no one." According to their website, they have 43 students from Virginia, 57 from Maryland, and 22 from DC. |
By DEI some posters apparently mean USNWR adding 5% more weight to Pell grant recipient grad rates. About 1/3 of all students receive Pell grants. They’re a formal of financial aid based on income, not race. It’s misleading to refer to it as “DEI.” It would be like referring to colleges giving financial aid based on income as DEI.
The bigger change was probably that the financial resources calculation switched to only looking at academic spending. Their financial resources tank subsequently went from 4th to 45th. Their student to faculty ratio also went up, which also hurt their overall score. Middlebury has a lot to offer but it’s disinformation from boosters that the drop was due to DEI. |
Good take. |
Imo school is way overrated should be 25-30. Location is undesirable. |
Then I suppose Williams should be 35. |
It shouldn't be first. |
What about W&L, Colgate and others. Their ranking also dropped. Look at Smith and Vassar, they got good ranking boost! |
So, which of the T30 LACs are under rated? |
Most of this is incorrect but nice try. |
No, most of it is correct. Nice try. |
Like what? Your vagueness suggests you just want to sow doubt but don’t actually have objective data to refute. |
I just don't think Williams is the best liberal arts college. I do think they're the LAC with the most money. |
When people look at rankings, do they look to see if the criteria are things that are important to them? Or, do they just care that the schools are perceived as prestigious and that’s all that matters? |
agree-would look at other rankings specific to your program of interest ex Poets and Quants for business |
