Cat had ear/yeast infection and Vet gave us drops to use but her ear still smells

Yes, I think they did. I honestly can’t remember exactly what they said but I’ve been back a few times and yes, we are cleaning her ear and we’ve tried different meds.

You can try changing up her diet. It’s possible it’s allergies related. I would call again and ask specifically if a culture was done. If it was another culture may need to be done as things might have changed. There is something called pseudomonas which can rapidly change in the ear to what meds they will respond to. Sounds like your vet is recommending a total ear canal ablation which is kind of the nuclear extreme option. This is after you’ve exhausted all efforts and nothing has changed.

Give her yogurt with cultures in it twice a day. That’s what fixes our dogs ears when they get yeasty. He has big floppy ears.

NP. Plain Greek yogurt like fage but really another culture should be done.

It is called Claro or Simplera...and it has a black box warning to not use in cats because it caused severe neurologic issues for some. Thoughts are the application caused pressure on the tympanum and ruptured it.

Op. Isn’t there something before that? Oral antibiotics?

Culture says it’s a hard to treat bacteria
