Susie Wiles was supposed to be the adult in the room

I get how it’s been done, I get how people her in position can have influence. But in the end, she can’t decide things.

I 100% agree with you in lamenting the situation. But what are we expecting?? ‘We think Trump will make bad decisions, do damage, do illegal things. But she will stop him!’

Some people billed her as being a trump whisperer, and possibly able to mitigate his unhinged ideas and behavior. But that hasn’t happened, quite the opposite.

The chief of staff has always guided the executive branch.

If Wiles is guiding the Executive, what escaped asylum inmate is guiding Wiles?

I would think that assume rationality in Trump. This go around, maybe that’s all gone. I’m beginning to think the mental decline/dementia argument may make the most sense. Threatening Greenland, the tariff non-sense, randomly gutting government infrastructure, threaten science capabilities, ‘buying’ a Tesla on the White House lawn. This is all literally insane behavior.

Wiles and Trump/Elon had the same goals during the campaign. To get votes for Trump.

That's how she kept everyone in line with a semblance of a message - remember the immigrants eating dogs? There were some significant mistakes!

But now, she CANNOT control them. They have what they want. They don't need to listen to her anymore. It's a free for all.

You now have illegal firings, Trump threatening to annex Greenland, sketchy Starlink deals and “First Buddy” Elon tweeting that Hitler didn’t murder millions of people!?!?

https://www.forbes.com/sites/antoniopequenoiv/2025/03/13/musk-retweets-hitler-didnt-murder-millions-message-amid-ongoing-nazi-controversy/

What the heck happened? Is Wiles just MIA? Or, worse yet, does she agree with Trump and DOGE’s tactics? Good grief.

The irony is that all these conservatives are supposedly “originalists,” but they can’t be bothered following the plain language of the law.

Trump, Musk, and Vance are violently remaking America in their own image and all that can occur to your pea brain is to blame the nearest woman.

The abject stupidity, misogyny, and inability to interrogate your own biases that afflict many of the allegedly well educated posters on this forum make me fear more for America than Trump does.

Aren’t you being a bit dramatic and hyperbolic? Where in the quoted response is it mentioned that she’s a woman? Her gender was not discussed in this thread.

This! I was thinking about Susie Wiles today too. She is totally MIA.

May she never have a good night's sleep for the rest of her cursed life

I think you've got a bit of amnesia if yuo think this is actually crazier than last time. Am I the only one who remembers when he told people to drink bleach?

I think last time, the difference was that he was less angry and hellbent on revenge - at least at first. And also there were some institutionalists there who hemmed him in. So he talked bonkers but wasn't able to effect every idiotic evil thought that went through his swiss cheese brain. This time - not so much. He knows government better - which, I tell you what, is a surprise to me; I didn't think he was paying any attention and I thought he was incapable of learning. And he's angry. And he's got anti-institutionalists around him who want to burn the whole thing down while stealing everything they can. (And the few institutionalists are so weak and spineless that they might as well be enacting their own cryoto scams. Proud of yourself, Mario? Are you?)

I can’t decide whether I’m mad at Trump for laying off federal employees, or happy he did it because it has turned the public against him. Now Democrats will win in 2026 and 2028 and we can hire everyone back and get the USAID programs back on track. So, fine. But still, was all this turmoil really necessary?

We knew this would happen. He went through anyone with a conscience and basic knowledge of government and international relations the first time around.

Apparently because no one seemed to understand the value of their own government until it was taken away.

Help me understand what you're yammering about.

Are you saying OP can't be charged with awareness of Susie Wiles's sex unless OP mentions it?

Or are you saying you really don't get that skipping over all the almost exclusively male decision makers in the Trump administration, including Trump himself, to blame the one woman who is effectively a jumped-up administrator is foolish and very consistent with the worldview of people who take for granted that women must be responsible for men's behavior?

You're smoking crack if you think the party of trans ideology is winning anything in 2028.
